EMPHASIS: DWI Sobriety Checkpoint Announcement - - Boone County

Captain Michael A. Turner, commanding officer of Troop F, Jefferson City, announces that a sobriety checkpoint will be held in Boone County sometime in the month of May 2015. The Missouri State Highway Patrol will conduct the sobriety checkpoint.

Sobriety checkpoints are a part of the Patrol’s efforts to remove impaired drivers from Missouri’s highways, and are conducted at various locations which have been found to experience a higher than normal number of alcohol-related contacts.

Captain Turner says, "Driving while intoxicated checkpoints are a great tool in removing the impaired driver from Missouri's highways. If you suspect a motorist of driving while intoxicated, call the Missouri State Highway Patrol at the toll-free emergency number 1-800-525-5555 or cellular *55."

In support of 'The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths,' the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
