EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces January Selective Enforcement Operation



Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces that sometime during the month of January, officers assigned to Troop I will participate in a selective enforcement operation. This particular operation will be conducted in Phelps County, and will emphasize the detection of motorists who are violating the speed limit.
Captain Kenley stated, “Approximately 40 percent of all traffic fatalities can be attributed to drivers who are violating the speed limit or who are traveling at a speed that is too fast for the prevailing conditions. I encourage all motorists to give themselves more time when planning the driving portion of their trip. A driver in a hurry accomplishes nothing more than putting everyone else on the highway in harm’s way.”
