Captain Ronald S. During the eight-hour project, 10 troopers focused their attention on violations that occurred in the construction/work zone on Interstate 55, north of Pevely, MO.

As a result of the enforcement program, a total of 65 summonses and 73 warnings were issued. Of those summonses, 16 individuals were cited for exceeding the speed limit, 14 for no seat belt, three for no insurance, and three for driving while revoked, suspended or no license. 29 individuals were cited for other moving and non-moving violations.
In addition 22 arrests were made on subjects who had active warrants. During the eight-hour project, 79 vehicles were stopped.

“Jefferson County is going to continue to have this construction/work zone throughout the summer," said Capt. Johnson. “Please obey the reduced speed limits and be attentive while driving through construction zones.”
