EMPHASIS: Drug Investigation

Captain Luke Vislay, director of the Division of Drug and Crime Control, announces the results of a short-term narcotics investigation in Gasconade County.

On September 14, 2008, as a result of a short-term drug investigation by members of the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group, the Gasconade County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop near Drake, MO. The occupants of the vehicle were identified as Shawn White, 40, of Union, MO, and Christina Morris, 34, of Morrison, MO. Both individuals were wanted for parole absconder warrants. A search of the vehicle revealed a fully functional methamphetamine laboratory. Morris and White were transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where they were held on the absconder warrants. Formal drug-related charges will be sought from the Gasconade County prosecutor. The Gasconade County Sheriff’s Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted in this investigation.

The Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group is a multi-jurisdictional drug task force. Its members include the sheriff’s departments of Gasconade, Laclede, Camden, Dallas, Pulaski, and Crawford counties, as well as the Lebanon and Osage Beach police departments. LANEG is governed by a board of directors and is coordinated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The above charges are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
