EMPHASIS: Troop D Announces Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint In McDonald County

Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted in McDonald County on July 2, 2016. The location of the checkpoint was on Missouri Route H at Interstate 49. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.

DWI Arrests -- 9
Seat Belt Violations -- 4
Child Restraint Violation -- 1
Driver License Violations -- 10
Misdemeanor Drug Arrests -- 3
Minor In Possession Violation -- 1
Registration Violations -- 3
Insurance Violations -- 2
Speed Violation -- 1

Troopers also issued 24 warnings for various other traffic violations during the operation.

The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober.
