EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces Results Of DWI Saturation

Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the results of a DWI saturation patrol conducted in Pulaski County. The enforcement operation was conducted from 7 p.m., March 16, 2013, until 3 a.m. on March 17, 2013. During the operation, three troopers were assigned to patrol those highways where in the past a higher number of traffic crashes and arrests had occurred involving alcohol or drug-impaired drivers.

During the enforcement operation the troopers issued 14 citations and 20 warnings. The following is a breakdown of the violations:

DWI: 1
Speed Violations: 4
Failure To Wear A Seat Belt: 1
Hazardous Moving Violations: 6
Driver’s License Violation: 1
Uninsured Motorist: 1

Captain Kenley would like to encourage anyone who witnesses a vehicle being operated in a careless or imprudent manner, or who is involved in or comes upon an emergency situation, to report the incident by dialing *55 on your cellular telephone. This toll-free number is directed to the nearest Missouri State Highway Patrol troop headquarters for immediate response.

The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint, and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
