EMPHASIS: Patrol Investigates Shooting In Poplar Bluff

The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control was requested by the Poplar Bluff Police Department to investigate a shooting at 2225 Baron Road.

On January 31, 2015, at 7:05 p.m., the Poplar Bluff Police Department responded to a residence at 2225 Baron Road in response to a child custody issue. The residence was occupied by Jeremy W. Grable, 37. Prior to their arrival, a second 9-1-1 call was made by Grable at 7:08 p.m., stating he had shot a subject in the chest and needed an ambulance. Poplar Bluff officers arrived on scene and located Shelia D. Hunt, 235 Rivet Lane, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, 34, who had suffered a gunshot wound to the upper torso. Ms. Hunt was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center and remains in stable condition.

Grable was arrested by the Poplar Bluff Police Department for assault (1st degree), and armed criminal action. Grable was released after posting a $50,000 surety bond.

The above charges are mere accusation and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
