EMPHASIS: Click It Or Ticket Campaign In Troop D

Captain Randy Beydler, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, announces a two-week enforcement operation beginning May 19, 2008. Troop D officers will be conducting a “Click It or Ticket” campaign in Christian, Lawrence, Newton, Polk, and Webster counties for two weeks, concluding June 1, 2008.
Throughout this operation, a zero-tolerance enforcement policy will be in effect in an effort to raise seat belt awareness and compliance. Electronic message boards, provided by the Missouri Department of Transportation, will be activated reminding motorists of the campaign. The enforcement operation is part of a national campaign, and will be conducted statewide in Missouri.
“Day or night, we want all drivers and passengers to buckle-up,” stated Captain Beydler. “Seat belts do save lives, and if you are stopped for a traffic offense, and not buckled up correctly, you will receive a ticket.”
