EMPHASIS: New Commercial Vehicle Program For Troop H
Captain Duane L. Robinson, commanding officer of Troop H in St. Joseph, announces a new commercial vehicle program for Troop H. Two full-time trooper positions will focus on homeland security activities, and improve the Patrol’s commercial vehicle enforcement capabilities. The commercial vehicle enforcement troopers or “CVETs” will be responsible for enforcing commercial vehicle and special mobile equipment hazardous laws, as well as inspecting radioactive shipments using specialized equipment. The unit will also receive information related to homeland security.
The two CVETs have been assigned special vehicles due to the equipment they employ. The vehicles are fully marked Chevrolet Tahoe police SUVs. Due to the nature of their duty, their daily uniform will be a military style field Patrol uniform that displays the Patrol shoulder patch.
The following officers have been assigned as Troop H CVETs:
Sergeant Todd A. Zacher is the supervisor of the unit. He is an 16-year veteran of the Patrol. Prior to his current assignment, he was the zone commander of Zone 6, St. Joseph.
Corporal Tyson B. Gardner is also assigned to the unit. He is an 11-year veteran of the Patrol. Prior to his assignment as a CVET, Cpl. Gardner was the assistant commander of Zone 6, St. Joseph.
