EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces Results Of DWI Saturation
Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the results of a DWI saturation patrol conducted in Phelps County from 7 p.m., June 26, 2009, until 3 a.m., June 27, 2009. During the operation, troopers placed special emphasis on patrolling those highways where in the past a higher number of impaired drivers were either involved in a traffic crash or arrested for DWI.
During the enforcement operation troopers stopped 48 vehicles, and issued 45 citations and 49 warnings. The following is a breakdown of the arrests:
DWI: 3
Speeding: 17
Seat Belt Violations: 6
Driver’s License Violation: 4
Uninsured Motorists: 4
Vehicle Registration: 4
Felony Warrant Arrest: 1
Misdemeanor Warrant Arrests: 6
Captain Kenley stated, “If you see what appears to be an impaired driver on a Missouri highway, or you need to report an emergency, please dial the Patrol’s emergency hotline, 1-800-525-5555 or * 55 on your cellular phone.”
