EMPHASIS: Troop I To Conduct Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program Operations In May And June

Captain James W. Remillard, commanding officer of Troop I, announces that troopers will be conducting special enforcement operations on Interstate 44 during the month of May and June. Troopers assigned to these operations will place special emphasis on commercial motor vehicles and criminal activity.
“Interstate 44 is a major traffic artery for the entire United States and runs directly through the heart of Troop I and the counties we serve,” stated Captain Remillard. “Troop I troopers work hard every day to live up to the agency’s vision statement, ‘By excelling as a criminal justice leader in the delivery of quality services, the Missouri State Highway Patrol will ensure Missouri is a safe place to live or visit.’”

Approximately 63 percent of Missouri fatal crash victims who are required to be restrained are NOT at the time of the traffic crash. The Patrol urges motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint.
