EMPHASIS: Troop I Officers To Participate In "10-Mile" Trooper
Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces Troop I officers will again be involved in the "10-mile Trooper Project" during the peak travel days of the Thanksgiving holiday. The operation will focus on Interstate 44. By assigning an officer every ten miles on the state's more heavily traveled highways, the Patrol hopes to reduce traffic crashes through vigorous enforcement and high visibility. The objective of the program is to also place a trooper in close proximity of motorists who may need assistance.
Captain Kenley stated, “As you travel this holiday to visit your family and loved ones, please remember the importance of making your trip a safe one. Last year 14 individuals lost their lives on Missouri's highways over the Thanksgiving Holiday period. Please drive safely so you and your family have the opportunity to truly enjoy this holiday."
