EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces Results Of "Rt. 66 Click It" Enforcement Operation

Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the results of the “Get Your Clicks On Route 66 Enforcement” program that was conducted on Friday, August 3, 2012. Missouri and eight other states along the traditional Route 66 corridor teamed up to dedicate this day to enforcing vigorously all traffic laws, with a special emphasis on seat belt violations. In addition to issuing 95 warnings, Troop I officers made arrests and issued summonses for the following offenses
Seat Belt Violations: 27
Speed: 26
Uninsured Motorists: 6
No Driver’s License: 2
Suspended/Revoked Driver’s license: 2
Non-Moving Traffic Offenses: 7
Felony Warrant Arrests: 2
Drug Offenses: 4

Captain Kenley stated, “Your best defense against being injured or killed if involved in a traffic crash is a properly fastened seat belt. If you are the operator of the vehicle, please take the responsibility to make sure everyone in your car or truck is buckled-up before the wheels ever roll.”
