EMPHASIS: Six New Troopers Assigned To Troop A


Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee’s Summit, is pleased to announce the assignment of six new troopers to Troop A. The new troopers are members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 96th Recruit Class that graduated from the Patrol Academy on July 12, 2013. The new troopers will report for duty on July 29, 2013.

Trooper Jack T. Thomas, a native of Salt Lake City, Utah, has been assigned to Zone 2, which serves the citizens of Platte County. Trooper Thomas graduated from Liberty High School in Liberty, Missouri. He holds an associate’s of arts degree from Maple Woods Community College in Kansas City, Missouri. Trooper Thomas’ field training officer will be Trooper Chad S. Kutzner.

Trooper Jared L. Dillon, a native of Independence, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 5, which serves the citizens of Ray and Carroll counties. Trooper Dillon graduated from Odessa R-7 High School in Odessa, Missouri. Trooper Dillon is a former Nebraska state trooper. Trooper Dillon is married to Blythe (Peterson) Dillon and they have three children: Patrick Dillon, Peyton Dillon, and Prescott Dillon. Trooper Dillon’s field training officer will be Trooper Clay D. Moeller.

Trooper Aaron A. Engelhart, a native of Clinton, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 7, which serves the citizens of Jackson County. Trooper Engelhart graduated from Warrensburg High School in Warrensburg, Missouri. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri. Trooper Engelhart’s field training officer will be Sergeant S. Andy Coats.

Trooper Erica E. Crabtree, a native of Columbia, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 14, which serves the citizens of Bates County. Trooper Crabtree graduated from Northwest High School in Hughesville, Missouri. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. Trooper Crabtree’s field training officer will be Trooper Kurt A. Schmutzler.

Trooper Beau M. Ryun, a native of Lexington, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 14, which serves the citizens of Bates County. Trooper Ryun graduated from Lafayette County C-1 High School in Higginsville, Missouri. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri. Trooper Ryun’s field training officer will be Trooper David A. Jones.
Trooper Tyler R. Wright, a native of Springfield, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 15, which serves the citizens of Henry County. Trooper Wright graduated from Hillcrest High School in Springfield, Missouri. He holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. Trooper Wright’s field training officer will be Trooper R. Chris West.
