EMPHASIS: Results From Sobriety Checkpoint In Taney County

Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint held in Taney County at the intersection of U. S. Highway160 and Missouri Route F, on Saturday, May 14, 2011.

Nine troopers stopped 326 drivers and a total of 39 arrests were made and 46 warnings were issued during the four and one-half hour project. Totals from this checkpoint include:

3 -- DWI arrests
5 -- misdemeanor warrant arrests
2 -- misdemeanor drug arrests
10 -- driver’s license citations
7 -- seat belt citations
12 -- non-moving citations
