EMPHASIS: Troopers Make Arrest Following Thefts From Wal-Mart Locations

The Missouri State Highway Patrol announces the arrest of William J. Kirby, 48, of Joplin, Missouri, for felony stealing, following an investigation into thefts from Wal-Mart stores in Missouri and Iowa. Many of the thefts were from stores in Southwest Missouri. Investigators with the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control arrested Kirby at his residence on January 26, 2012. Kirby was transported to the Jasper County Jail in Carthage, Missouri.

The charge for which William J. Kirby was arrested is mere accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charge must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
