EMPHASIS: Adair County Resident Arrested On Drug Charges

On September 17, 2008, at approximately 11:07 p.m., members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Marijuana Eradication Team, and the Adair County Sheriff’s Department arrested Deo D. Dover, 72, of Kirksville, Missouri, following an investigation of an illegal growing operation. During the investigation, officers determined Dover had been growing 15 marijuana plants on private property north of the Adair County Water Treatment Facility. During a consent search of Dover’s residence located at 47 Doyle Way, in Kirksville, Missouri, officers located a misdemeanor amount of marijuana and equipment used in the production of growing marijuana. Dover was arrested for felony production of a controlled substance/marijuana; felony maintaining a public nuisance; and misdemeanor possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana. Dover was released on his own recognizance pending issuance of warrants. The charges for which Dover was arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
