EMPHASIS: Results Of Enforcement Projects Conducted In Troop D


Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, MO, announces the results of several enforcement projects conducted in the Troop D area from March 14-17, 2014. During this period, DWI enforcement saturations were conducted in Christian and Jasper counties, and a hazardous moving saturation was conducted in Barry County. The goal of these traffic enforcement operations was to detect intoxicated drivers, hazardous moving violations, driving over the speed limit, and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes. As a result of these operations, officers made 113 arrests and issued 196 warnings. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during these saturations:

28--Citations issued for exceeding the posted speed limit
31--Citations issued for seat belt violations
1 --Citation issued for a stop sign violation
25--Citations issued for non-moving violations
5--Citations issued for license violations
9--Citations issued for insurance violations
8--Misdemeanor warrant arrests


Captain Villanueva stated, “Motorists traveling on Missouri’s roadways can expect that members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol will be striving to do all we can to rid our roads of unsafe drivers. Please help us by being the safest driver you can possibly be. Always pay attention to the task of driving, and please wear your seat belt at all times.”

The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear it!
