Four New Troopers Assigned To Troop A
Captain Scott A. Shipers, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee’s Summit, is pleased to announce the assignment of four new troopers to Troop A. The new troopers are members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s 102nd Recruit Class, which graduated from the Highway Patrol Law Enforcement Academy on June 24, 2016. The new troopers will report for duty on July 11, 2016.
Trooper Dakota K. Fletcher, a native of St. Joseph, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 4, which serves the citizens of Clay County. Trooper Fletcher graduated from Cameron High School in Cameron, Missouri. He holds a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri.
Trooper Aaron W. Ferguson, a native of Warrensburg, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 5, which serves the citizens of Ray and Carroll counties. Trooper Ferguson graduated from Holden High School in Holden, Missouri. He holds a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri. Trooper Ferguson is also currently serving in the Missouri Army National Guard reserves.
Trooper Brandon G. Katzing, a native of Sedalia, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 16, which serves the citizens of Benton County. Trooper Katzing graduated from Smith Cotton High School in Sedalia, Missouri. He holds a Bachelor of Science in physical education from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri.
Trooper Justin K. Marlin, a native of Springfield, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 16, serving the citizens of Benton County. Trooper Marlin graduated from Warsaw High School in Warsaw, Missouri. He attended the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri. Trooper Marlin and his wife, Jennifer [Hovendick], have two daughters.
The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober.
