EMPHASIS: Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint Conducted In Marion County


Captain John W. Elliott, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted in Marion County by Troop B officers.
On June 16, 2007, members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Hannibal Police Department, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Missouri Highway 79 at the intersection of Union and Adams streets in Hannibal, Missouri.
As a result of the checkpoint, a total of 32 arrests were made and 15 warnings were issued. Of those arrests, three individuals were arrested for driving while intoxicated.
“Throughout the year the Patrol will be participating in numerous special enforcement operations,” stated Captain Elliott. “Working with local law enforcement agencies is a very effective way to keep our highways safe.”
