EMPHASIS: Results Of Hazardous Moving Operation--Troop H

Captain James E. McDonald, commanding officer Troop H, St. Joseph, announces the results of a hazardous moving operation conducted on Interstate 29 in Atchison and Holt counties. The operation was conducted on Sunday, October 11, 2015, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Officers assigned placed special attention to those violations that contribute to traffic crashes, as well as adhering to the Patrol's zero tolerance policy for seat belts and child restraints. As a result of the project, officers issued 26 citations and 57 warnings.

Captain McDonald says, “Motorists traveling on Missouri’s roadways can expect that members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol will be striving to keep our roadways safe through strict enforcement. Always pay attention to the task of driving, and please wear your seat belt at all times.”

Approximately 63 percent of Missouri fatal crash victims who are required to be restrained are NOT at the time of the traffic crash. The Patrol urges motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint.
