EMPHASIS: Troop D Announces Results Of Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) Enforcement Operation

Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, announces the results of a Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program’s SAFETE operation in Greene County on April 29, 2016. SAFETE is an enforcement program focusing on violations of commercial motor vehicles. During the operation, troopers stopped a total of 24 commercial vehicles and 18 non-commercial vehicles. Additionally, 19 commercial motor vehicle inspections were conducted, which resulted in two commercial vehicles and three drivers being placed out-of-service. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.

Commercial Vehicle Arrests -- 2
Seat Belt Violations -- 6
Speed Offenses -- 2
Non-Moving Violations -- 6

Troopers also issued 62 warnings for various other offenses during this operation.

Approximately 63 percent of Missouri fatal crash victims who are required to be restrained are NOT at the time of the traffic crash. The Patrol urges motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Join us in supporting the Drive To Zero Highway Deaths. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
