EMPHASIS: Results Of Sobriety Checkpoints Conducted In Troop B During July 2012
Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of sobriety checkpoints conducted in Adair and Marion counties during the month of July 2012.
On July 20, 2012, members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Missouri Highway 6, west of Brashear, MO, in Adair County. As a result of the checkpoint, which began at 11 p.m. on July 20, 2012, and concluded at 3 a.m. on July 21, 2012, officers checked 132 vehicles, made six arrests, and issued seven warnings. The following is a list of enforcement contacts during the checkpoint:
1 -- Citation issued for a non-moving violation
1 -- Citation issued for a license violation
2 -- Arrests for misdemeanor drug violations
1 -- Arrest for a misdemeanor warrant
1 -- Arrest for a felony warrant
On July 27, 2012, members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Hannibal Police Department, and the Marion County Sheriff's Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Missouri Highway 79, at Missouri Route T, in Marion County. As a result of the checkpoint, which began at 11 p.m. on July 27, 2012, and concluded at 3 a.m. on July 28, 2012, officers checked 225 vehicles, made 42 arrests, and issued 22 warnings. The following is a list of enforcement contacts during the checkpoint:
6 -- Arrests for driving while intoxicated
11-- Arrests for misdemeanor drug violations
6 -- Arrests for misdemeanor criminal offenses
9 -- Arrests for misdemeanor warrants
1 -- Arrest for person under 21 years of age possessing an intoxicating beverage
7 -- Citations issued for seat belt violations
2 -- Citations issued for license violations
