EMPHASIS: Sobriety Checkpoint To Be Held
Captain Billy E. Chadwick, commanding officer of Troop G, Willow Springs, announces that a sobriety checkpoint will be held in Howell County sometime in the month of June. The Missouri State Highway Patrol, in cooperation with other area law enforcement agencies, will conduct the checkpoint.
Sobriety checkpoints are part of the Patrol’s efforts to remove careless and intoxicated drivers from Missouri’s highways, and are conducted at various locations which have been found to experience a higher than normal number of alcohol-related contacts, hazardous driving contacts, and traffic crashes.
Captain Chadwick says, “The Missouri State Highway Patrol is committed to removing intoxicated drivers from our highways. Sobriety checkpoints are an important part of that strategy.”
