EMPHASIS: Multi-Jurisdictional Platte County Warrant Sweep

Captain Eric T. Olson, commanding officer of Troop A, announces the results of multi-jurisdictional warrant sweep operation involving the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop A, and the Platte County Sheriff’s Department. The three-day joint operation, designed to reduce the number of outstanding warrants issued by the Platte County Court system, targeted warrants issued for driving while intoxicated, driving while suspended/or revoked, possession of marijuana, and the unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. The warrant sweep was conducted on October 23, 24, and 25, in Platte County, Missouri. During the three-day joint operation, 42 subjects were arrested, clearing 152 warrants.

While attempting to serve active warrants issued by the Platte County Sheriff’s Department, officers found that six subjects were already incarcerated, five subjects decided to turn themselves in and pay their fine, and two subjects were found to be deceased.

In support of "The Drive to ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
