EMPHASIS: Patrol Announces Results Of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Program


Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, announced the results of a commercial motor vehicle enforcement operation conducted in Cape Girardeau and Scott counties. During the SAFETE enforcement operation, which was funded by the Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program, officers focused their attention on commercial motor vehicle violations. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation:

306 -- Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspections
700 -- Warnings
1 -- Driving While Intoxicated Arrest
60 -- Out-Of-Service Violations
39 -- Vehicles Placed Out-Of-Service
21 -- Drivers Placed Out-Of-Service
119 -- Total Arrests

Captain Ridens said, “Enforcement of commercial motor vehicle laws and regulations is critical to the safety of the motoring public. Please assist us in our efforts by reporting careless drivers and other suspicious activities on Missouri’s roadways.”

In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
