The enforcement operations included All American Buckle Up Week and the Operation Combined Accident Reduction Effort (C.A.R.E.).
During the 2008 Memorial Day Weekend accident counting period, which began at 6 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2008, and ended at 11:59 p.m., Monday, May 26, 2008, Troop B officers investigated 13 traffic crashes, with three injuries, but no fatalities. During the period covering May 19, 2008 through May 26, 2008, the Patrol was actively involved in the “All American Buckle Up” campaign. As a result of the campaign, Troop B officers issued 194 seat belt citations and four citations for failure to properly secure a child in an approved child restraint seat.
