EMPHASIS: Results Of DWI Saturations Conducted By Troop B Officers During The Month Of July 2012
Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of DWI enforcement saturations conducted in the Troop B area during the month of July 2012.
During the month of July 2012, DWI enforcement saturations were conducted in Shelby County on July 14, and in Adair County on July 21. Each of the saturations began at 10 p.m. and concluded at 2 a.m. the next day. The goals of these traffic enforcement operations were to detect intoxicated drivers, hazardous moving, driving over the speed limit, and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes. As a result of the operations, officers made 15 arrests and issued 64 warnings. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the saturations:
2 -- Arrests for driving while intoxicated
2 -- Citations issued for exceeding the posted speed limit
3 -- Citations issued for seat belt and child restraint violations
1 -- Citation issued for a hazardous moving violation
2 -- Citations issued for a non-moving violation
2 -- Citations issued for license violations
2 -- Citations issued for an insurance violation
1 -- Citation for a signal violation
"The Missouri State Highway Patrol is very serious about removing impaired drivers from our roadways," stated Captain Wilt. "If drinking alcohol is a part of your plans, please choose a sober designated driver."
