EMPHASIS: 22nd Annual Corporal Michael E. Webster Memorial Blood Drive

Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, wishes to invite the public to participate in the “Red Cross, Troop C Corporal Michael E. Webster Blood Drive” Friday, October 2, 2015. The blood drive will be held at Troop C Headquarters located at 891 Technology Drive, Weldon Spring. The drive will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 3 p.m.

On October 2, 1993, Corporal Michael E. Webster was killed in the line of duty by a drunk driver. Since his untimely death, blood drives like this one have honored his service to the community. Someone is killed or injured in an alcohol-related crash every two hours in Missouri. Alcohol was involved in 30% of all fatal crashes during 2014. Drunk drivers killed 205 people and injured 3,372 in Missouri traffic crashes last year. The Webster family, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the American Red Cross want to encourage everyone to come out and support the Corporal Michael E. Webster Blood Drive. For questions or to make an appointment call Terri at 636-300-2800 (ext. 3331) or go to www.redcrossblood.org.

Approximately 63 percent of Missouri fatal crash victims who are required to be restrained are NOT at the time of the traffic crash. The Patrol urges motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Join us in supporting the Drive To Zero Highway Deaths. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!
