EMPHASIS: Results Of Operation P.R.O.T.E.C.T Franklin County
Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, is pleased to announce the results of the Operation P.R.O.T.E.C.T. project that was conducted on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, in Franklin County, on Missouri Highway 100 and Interstate 44. During the eight-hour project, 10 troopers focused their attention on violations that occurred in the construction/work zones on MO 100, east of Washington, MO, and Interstate 44.
As a result of the enforcement program, a total of 96 summonses and 102 warnings were issued. Of those summonses, 42 individuals were cited for exceeding the speed limit, 12 for no seat belt, three for hazardous moving violations, 11 for no insurance, and one for driving while revoked or suspended. In addition, 26 individuals were cited for other non-moving violations and one arrest was made for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. During the eight-hour project, 114 vehicles were stopped.
“This was the last Operation PROTECT for Highway 100 and I deem it a complete success,” said Capt. Johnson. “For future construction work zones in this area: Please obey the reduced speed limits and be attentive while driving.”
