EMPHASIS: Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint In Lincoln County


Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted on Friday evening, August 27, 2010, in Lincoln County. During the five-hour operation, a total of 435 vehicles were checked with a total of 19 arrests being made and 114 warnings being issued. Of those, 10 summonses were written for non-moving violations and three for driver license violations.

In addition, three arrests were made for DWI, one arrest was made for a misdemeanor drug violation, and two arrests were made for outstanding warrants.

Captain Johnson stated, "We took several more intoxicated drivers off the road this weekend, potentially saving lives in the process.”
