EMPHASIS: Drug Investigation

Captain Luke Vislay, director of the Division of Drug and Crime Control, announces the results of a joint narcotics investigation in Laclede County.

Members of the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group (LANEG), the Laclede County Sheriff’s Department and the Lebanon Police Department served a search warrant on a residence located at 677 Pearl Street, Lebanon, Missouri, on August 21, 2008. During this search, officers seized approximately one pound of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and $399 in U.S. currency. Officers arrested Starla M. Chatman-Prada, 25, of Lebanon, and Tyler A. Farmer, 18, of Lebanon, for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute. A bond was set for both Chatman-Prada and Farmer for $50,000.

The Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group is a multi-jurisdictional drug task force. Its members include the sheriff departments of Camden, Gasconade, Crawford, Pulaski, and Laclede counties, as well as the Lebanon and Osage Beach police departments. LANEG is governed by a board of directors and is coordinated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The above charges are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
