EMPHASIS: Troop G Releases Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint

Captain Dwayne F. Isringhausen, commanding officer of Troop G, releases the following information:

A total of 49 arrests and 27 warnings were issued in conjunction with a sobriety checkpoint conducted in Texas County on March 12, 2011, near the intersection of U.S. Highway 60 and Dunn Road. Totals from this checkpoint include:

5 -- misdemeanor DWI arrests
1-- speed summons
8 -- seat belt summonses
14 -- non-moving summonses
4 -- driver’s license summonses
8-- uninsured motorist summonses
9-- misdemeanor warrant arrests

Captain Isringhausen says, “The motoring public has been very supportive of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s efforts to make our roads safer through the use of sobriety checkpoints. Nobody wants to share the road with a drunk, drugged, or otherwise unsafe driver. Please don’t drink and drive.”
