EMPHASIS: Missouri State Highway Patrol, Missouri Department Of Transportation, And The Missouri Coalition For Roadway Safety Host Distracted Driving Summit

The Patrol, MoDOT, and Missouri Coalition For Roadway Safety are sponsoring a Distracted Driving Summit on February 16-17, 2012, at the Capital Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City, MO. Colonel Ronald K. "Ron" Replogle, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, invites members of the media to attend the opening ceremony for the Distracted Driving Summit at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 16.

This summit is a gathering of law enforcement officers, engineers, educators, professionals, and injury prevention groups. In addition to informational presentations and discussions, this group will work together to create an educational program for all ages about the dangers of distracted driving. Hundreds of Missourians die every year in traffic crashes, because they weren't paying attention; they were distracted from the job of driving.
