EMPHASIS: Patrol Announces Results Of Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement Program


Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces the results of SAFETE, an enforcement program focusing on violations of commercial motor vehicles. SAFETE was conducted on Wednesday December 5, 2012, in St. Louis County. During the eight-hour project, eight troopers focused their enforcement activities on hazardous operations of commercial motor vehicles.

As a result of the enforcement program, a total of 40 summonses and 121warnings were issued.
Speed -- 2 summonses
Seat Belt Violations -- 5 summonses
Commercial Vehicle Violations -- 27 summonses
Non-Moving Violations -- 3 summonses
No Driver’s License -- 2 summonses
Driving While Suspended/Revoked -- 1 summons
Drivers Placed Out-of-Service -- 3
Vehicles Placed Out-of-Service -- 8
Commercial Vehicles Inspected -- 39

Captain Johnson stated, “Enforcement of commercial motor vehicle violations is critical to the safety of the motoring public. Please assist us in our efforts by reporting careless drivers and other suspicious activities on Missouri’s roadways.”

The Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves from all types of hazardous drivers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Click It 4 Life!
