EMPHASIS: Arrest Of Kent Harris

At 10:20 a.m., on January 24, 2012, the Broward County (Florida) Sheriff’s Department arrested Kent Harris in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Harris, 49, of Greenville, Mississippi, is wanted in connection with the death of Kecia King, 46, of St. Joseph, who was found severely injured on Interstate 29, in Buchanan County, on January 21, 2012. Troopers with the Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control are in Florida conducting the investigation.
Harris has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and, currently, is being held in the Broward County Jail. His bond, upon extradition will be $100,000.
The charge for which Harris has been arrested is a mere accusation and is not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charge must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
