During this holiday period, the Missouri State Highway Patrol participated in Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort).
During the 2007 Fourth of July holiday traffic crash counting period, which began on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 and ended on Sunday, July 8, 2007, Troop B officers investigated five traffic crashes. Troop B officers made 14 arrests for driving while intoxicated, issued 359 speeding summonses and 111 seat belt summonses, and assisted 78 motorists.
