Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of a DWI (driving while intoxicated) saturation conducted in Adair County. The saturation began at 11 p.m., on September 22, 2012, and concluded at 3 a.m. on September 23, 2012. During this enforcement operation, officers patrolled specific areas with a goal of detecting impaired drivers and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes. As a result of the operation, officers made 10 arrests and issued 18 warnings. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the saturation:

2--Felony arrests for drug violations
1-- Misdemeanor criminal arrest
5-- Citations were issued for speed
1-- Citation was issued for a non-moving violation
1-- Citation was issued for a license violation

“Drinking and driving is very dangerous,” stated Captain Wilt. “The Missouri State Highway Patrol is very serious about removing the impaired driver from our roadways. If drinking is a part of your plans, choose a sober designated driver.”

The Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves from all types of hazardous drivers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Click it 4 Life!
