EMPHASIS: Troop D: Results Of DWI Saturation In Dallas County

Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, announces the results of a driving while intoxicated saturation conducted on Saturday evening, July 28, 2012, in Dallas County. The enforcement locations were selected based on their high number of drinking- and impairment-related traffic crashes and the high number of contacts with drivers who have been intoxicated.

A total of 44 vehicles were stopped during this operation and members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol made the following arrests:

2 -- DWI arrests
1 -- minor in possession violation
3 -- misdemeanor warrant arrests
12 -- hazardous moving violations
10 -- seat belt violations
1 -- driver license summons
5 -- insurance violations
46 -- warnings issued

“Driving drunk is simply not worth all the consequences,” stated Captain Villanueva. “Our message is simple and unwavering: Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over.” To report a suspected intoxicated driver dial 9-1-1 or *55 on your cell phone.
