EMPHASIS: Troop D Announces Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint In Jasper County


Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted in Jasper County on August 22, 2015. The location of the checkpoint was on Missouri Highway 66 at Tri-State Road. A total of 502 vehicles were stopped, and following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.

DWI Arrests -- 4
Seat Belt Violations -- 3
Child Restraint Violation -- 1
Driver License Violations -- 3
Misdemeanor Drug Arrests -- 2
Misdemeanor Warrant Arrests -- 6

Troopers also issued 10 warnings for various other traffic violations during the operation.

Approximately 63 percent of Missouri fatal crash victims who are required to be restrained are NOT at the time of the traffic crash. The Patrol urges motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint.
