EMPHASIS: Troop C Announces Results Of "Operation A.R.R.E.S.T." In St. Louis County

Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, is pleased to announce the results of a recent enforcement detail “Operation A.R.R.E.S.T.” (Alcohol Related Response Enforcement Strike Team). The purpose of Operation A.R.R.E.S.T. is to increase the motoring public’s awareness of the hazards of operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition.

Operation A.R.R.E.S.T. was conducted from 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014, to 3 a.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2014, in St. Louis County. This eight-hour project was conducted by six officers, who focused their enforcement efforts on identifying hazardous motor vehicle operations.

Captain Johnson stated, “Alcohol continues to be responsible for approximately 30 percent of all fatal crashes on Missouri highways. Operation A.R.R.E.S.T. will assist in reducing the number of intoxicated drivers, traffic crashes, and fatalities that occur on our roadways.”

In support of 'The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths,' the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
