EMPHASIS: Announcement of Troop E Promotions


Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, is pleased to announce the promotions of two Troop E officers. The promotions were effective January 1, 2013.

Corporal Michael D. Lynch was promoted to sergeant and designated zone supervisor of Zone 5, Cape Girardeau and Bollinger counties. Lynch was appointed to the Patrol on July 1, 1996, and after graduating from the Patrol Academy was assigned to Troop C, Zone 14. In 1998, he transferred to Troop E, Zone 10. In December 2007, he was promoted to corporal and designated assistant zone supervisor of Zone 4. He is a native of Hermitage, Missouri, and graduated from Hermitage High School. He served in the United States Army Reserves from 1989 to 1997. Before being appointed to the Patrol, he attended Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. He has one son, Drew.

Trooper Grant N. Williams was promoted to corporal and designated assistant zone supervisor of Zone 4, Cape Girardeau and Bollinger counties. Williams was appointed to the Patrol on October 20, 2002, and after graduating from the Patrol Academy was assigned to Troop E, Zone 7. In 2007, he transferred to Zone 4. He is a native of Portageville, Missouri, and graduated from Portageville High School. Before being appointed to the Patrol, he attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and served as a Cape Girardeau County deputy sheriff. He has one child, Landon.
