EMPHASIS: Captain Bradley W. Jones Retires August 1, 2014.

Colonel Ron Replogle, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces the following retirement:

Captain Bradley W. Jones, director of the Traffic Records Division, General Headquarters, Jefferson City, MO, is retiring effective August 1, 2014, after 35 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Missouri.

Captain Jones was appointed to the Patrol on July 9, 1979, as a member of the 50th Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, MO, he was assigned to Troop I, Rolla, MO. In 1982, he transferred to Troop E, Poplar Bluff, MO. Jones was promoted to the rank of corporal on December 1, 1987, and designated assistant zone supervisor of Zone 9, Portageville, MO. He was promoted to sergeant and designated zone supervisor of Zone 8, Portageville, on August 1, 1989. Jones was promoted to lieutenant and transferred to the Human Resources Division at General Headquarters, on July 1, 1994, where he served as assistant director of that division. On March 1, 1998, he transferred to the Training Division as an assistant director. He was promoted to captain and named director of the Professional Standards Division on March 1, 2000. He transferred to the Traffic Records Division as the director on August 1, 2005. It is from this position that Captain Jones retires.

Captain Jones was born in Hayti, MO. He graduated from Lilbourn High School In Lilbourn, MO, in 1974. He earned a bachelor's of science degree in criminal justice from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO, in 1978. He graduated from the 172nd session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA, in 1993. In 1997, he graduated from the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command. In 2001, he earned a master's of science in criminal justice administration from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO. Capt. Jones is married to Diana (Werner) and they have two grown children, one of whom is an active member of the Patrol assigned to the Troop A, Lee’s Summit, MO, area.
