EMPHASIS: Retirement Of Sergeant Jeff Creech

Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces effective July 1, 2014, Troop B Sergeant Jeff Creech, retired after serving over 24 years with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Sergeant Creech began his career with the Patrol on January 1, 1990, and was a member of the 62nd Missouri State Highway Patrol Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol Academy, he was assigned to Troop B, Zone 9, which serves Marion and Ralls counties. On July 1, 1998, he was promoted to corporal and designated the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 8. On October 19, 2003, he was promoted to sergeant and designated the zone supervisor of Zone 7, which serves Knox and Lewis counties. On June 1, 2010, he transferred into the Patrol's Gaming Division and was assigned to the Mark Twain Casino in LaGrange, Missouri. On March 1, 2012, he transferred to Troop B, Zone 8, and he was designated as a marine operations officer. As a marine operations officer, he primarily was responsible for patrolling Mark Twain Lake. It is from this position that he retires. During his career with the Patrol, he has served as a troop marijuana eradication trooper, EVOC instructor, Basic Boating instructor, and on several Patrol related details including the National Governor's Conference, University of Missouri football, Missouri State Fair, and the Joplin tornado.
Jeff is a native of Cumberland, Kentucky, and graduated from Cumberland High School in Cumberland, Kentucky. He holds a bachelor's of science degree in police administration from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky. Prior to his appointment to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, he served as a police officer in Hannibal, Missouri, for three years, and as a patrolman with the former Missouri State Water Patrol for four years. He is married to Alicia (Watson), a native of Decatur City, Iowa, and they have a grown son: Jordan.
