EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces Results Of DWI Saturation

Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the results of a DWI saturation patrol conducted in Laclede County from 7 p.m., August 30, 2013, until 3 a.m., August 31, 2013.
During the enforcement operation three assigned troopers stopped 29 vehicles for various traffic violations. In addition to issuing 36 warnings, the officers cited four individuals for exceeding the speed limit, eight for failure to wear a seat belt, four for no proof of insurance, and one for a driver’s license violation.
Captain Kenley stated, “The troopers assigned to this operation found none of the drivers they stopped during this eight-hour period to be intoxicated and for that we are all thankful. Unfortunately, that is not the case every night, and lives are still being lost or adversely affected due to the alcohol- or drug-impaired driver. I, again, want to encourage all motorists to always make the wise decision of never getting behind the wheel of a vehicle while under the influence of any type of substance.”
