EMPHASIS: Traffic Crash Involving Deputy Results In Death Of Pedestrian


At approximately 10:30 p.m. on March 21, 2007, a Pulaski County Deputy was traveling westbound on Highway 17 in Waynesville, Missouri when his vehicle struck Matthew L. Wyant, 21 of Waynesville, as Wyant was attempting to cross the road. Mr. Wyant received serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Ft. Leonard Wood Hospital. Mr. Wyant was later transported to St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, Missouri for further treatment.
On March 22, 2007, Mr. Wyant died as a result of the injuries he received from the crash. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is continuing the investigation into the crash.
