EMPHASIS: Results Of DWI Saturation Conducted In Andrew County

Captain James E. McDonald, commanding officer Troop H, St. Joseph, announces the results of a DWI (driving while intoxicated) saturation conducted in Andrew County. The saturation was held from 7:00 p.m. on December 31, 2014, to 3:00 a.m. on January 1, 2015. During this enforcement operation four officers patrolled specific areas with a goal of detecting impaired drivers and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes. As a result of the operation, officers made the following enforcement contacts:

3-Arrests for driving while intoxicated
1-Arrest for minor in possession
6-Misdemeanor drug arrests
18-Citations for traffic offenses
44-Warnings

“Impaired driving poses a significant threat to motorists on Missouri’s roadways,” stated Captain McDonald. “One of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s highest priorities is removing the impaired driver from our roadways. If drinking is part of your plans, choose a sober designated driver.”

In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
