EMPHASIS: Four New Troopers Assigned To Troop I

Captain James W. Remillard, commanding officer of Troop I, is pleased to announce four new troopers have been assigned to Troop I. The new troopers were members of the Patrol’s 99th Recruit Class, which graduated on December 19, 2014. The troopers completed 25 weeks of highly intense training at the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, Missouri. The new troopers reported to their assignments on January 5, 2015. They will work with a field training officer for approximately three months before working independently. The new troopers assigned to Troop I and their assignments are as follows:

Trooper Geoffrey N. Wensel, 45, a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has been assigned to Zone 4, serving Pulaski and Maries counties. His field training officer is Corporal Greg A. Weddle. Trooper Wensel is a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and he attended Hopkinsville Community College and Mineral Area College. Trooper Wensel is retired from the United States Army. Prior to his appointment to the Missouri State Highway Patrol he was employed by the Missouri Department of Corrections. He is married to Kyung (Kim).

Trooper Ethan T. Hobbs, 26, a native of Anderson, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 6, serving Pulaski and Maries counties. His field training officer is Corporal Aimee N. Fulkerson. Trooper Hobbs is a graduate of McDonald County High School in Anderson, Missouri, and Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. Prior to his appointment to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Trooper Hobbs was a teacher at Neosho Middle School in Neosho, Missouri. He is married to Stacia (Loyd).

Trooper Robert L. Crafton, 28, a native of Kennett, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 2, serving Phelps and Maries counties. His field training officer is Trooper Jonathon D. Fariole. Trooper Crafton is a graduate of Kennett High School in Kennett, Missouri, and a veteran of the United States Air Force. Prior to his appointment to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Trooper Crafton worked as a deputy sheriff with the Dunklin County Sheriff's Department in Kennett, Missouri. He is married to Christina (Doughton).

Trooper Isaac A. Cox, 30, a native of Rolla, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 2, serving Phelps and Maries counties. His field training officer is Trooper Jeremy R. McCurdy. Trooper Cox is a graduate of Rolla High School in Rolla, Missouri, and Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force.
