EMPHASIS: Announcement Of Sobriety Checkpoint

Captain Duane L. Robinson, commanding officer of Troop H in St. Joseph, announces that sometime during the month of August, a sobriety checkpoint will be held in Buchanan County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol will conduct the checkpoint with the assistance of the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Department.
“The motorists who enter the checkpoint will be stopped only for a brief time, and the inconvenience will be minimal if any,” said Captain Robinson. “The checkpoint is an effective tool to safeguard the public from these dangerous drivers.”
Captain Robinson urges you to telephone the Patrol if you observe any vehicle being driven in an erratic manner. Drivers can use the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s toll-free numbers for reporting emergencies. These numbers are, 1-800-525-5555 or cellular * 55.
