EMPHASIS: Patrol Announces Promotion Of Sergeant Bradley S. Bearden


Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, annouces effective April 1, 2016, Sergeant Bradley S. Bearden will be promoted to the rank of lieutenant and will be assigned to Troop D.

Bearden was appointed to the Patrol on January 1, 1996, as a member of the 71st Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol's Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, he was assigned to Troop D, Zone 5, serving Jasper County. In 2003, he was promoted to corporal and designated assistant zone supervisor for Zone 7, serving Newton and McDonald counties. In 2008, Bearden transferred to the Division of Drug and Crime Control as a criminal investigator serving the 18 counties of Troop D. In 2012, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant within the Division of Drug and Crime Control, and held this position until his promotion to lieutenant.

A native of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Lieutenant Bearden graduated from the Mountain Grove High School in 1988. Following high school, he attended Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration in 1992. Lieutenant Bearden and his wife, Brittany (Douglas), are the proud parents of two children: Spencer and Ainsely. He is the son of Judy and the late Jerry Kjellberg and the late Ramsey Bearden.
